We’ve used “Grace” to emphasize God’s initiative in revealing His redemptive love for all of us. God grounds our relationship with Him in His love and power, giving us renewal and redemption as a gift. And this idea of grace defines both our relationship with Him and how we want to be with each other: exhibiting kindness, love, and graciousness to those with whom we come into contact.
Grace Chicago, affiliated with the Reformed Church in America (RCA), adheres to the Reformed Christian perspective. We believe that God, through infinite love for His people, is actively working throughout history and in our lives, in order to reestablish a state of enduring goodness and Grace.

Grace first began meeting at Bob and Jill Reid’s house in January 2002. On December 1, 2002 we moved into our first official meeting space at the Chicago Dramatists Theatre. About two years later, at the end of February 2004, we moved to the Chopin Theatre. In October, 2006, we moved to the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. And, on September 28, 2008 Grace Chicago Church began meeting in the Auditorium of Holy Trinity High School.
The people who comprise Grace Chicago’s interesting and diverse community are the individuals you see in your neighborhood at the local café or coffee shop, the folks you pass on the street or sit next to on the El. We don’t try to cater to any one group, because we want to champion a multiplicity of perspectives.
You’re welcome to check out Grace Chicago, whether you grew up going to church or are coming for the first time. As you’ll quickly realize, it’s a low-pressure environment. We believe the Gospel’s message is for everyone and meets each of us where we are. With an appreciation for what makes each of us extraordinary, the Grace Chicago community is designed to provide relational support in a context grounded in the search for truth.
The easiest way to get involved is to come on Sunday morning. Each service is put together to welcome everyone, including those who don’t know much about the Christian faith. You may also want to follow up by scheduling a meeting with our pastor, Bob Reid. Bob enjoys meeting visitors personally and welcomes the opportunity to get to know you and introduce you to the mission and programs of Grace Chicago. You can also learn more about additional church events and other ways to participate with Grace and our surrounding community by going deeper.
