Join us for Lent at Grace
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday (March 1) and goes until Easter (April 16). The 40 days of Lent are traditionally connected to Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness. They are used by the church today to prepare for Easter.
We begin Lent on Ash Wednesday, pausing to consider our mortality and God's sovereignty. From Ash Wednesday, we move towards Easter, reading stories in the gospels about Christ's journey to Jerusalem where he will be crucified. We symbolically journey with him to Jerusalem. Good Friday (April 14) commemorates the death of Christ. Our Good Friday service will be somber as we reflect on the pain and misery that Christ endured. Two days later, we gather on Easter to celebrate his victory over death.
We would love for you to join us for one of our Lent services. There are also events like Beer and Hymns, outreach opportunities at Breakthrough Urban Ministries, and other social gatherings during Lent. Check out our events page for the most updated information.
