Contemplative Gathering
Reflecting on the seven last words of Christ
This gathering is kid-friendly
Work from "home" @ Grace
Grab your laptop (or a notebook, a neglected novel, colored pencils or whatever else is floating around on your to-do list) and spend the morning working at Grace. We’ll make a pot of coffee and you’re welcome to come and go as needed - the wi-fi is plentiful and there are plenty of open classrooms if you need privacy to take a call. All are welcome!
Maundy Thursday Community Dinners
We will mark Maundy Thursday by gathering around tables in one another’s homes. These dinners will be a simple time of shared food, thoughtful conversation and remembering the night Jesus gathered with his disciples for the Last Supper.
If you would like to participate, sign up here to attend one of the dinners hosted by members of our community. Locations and details will be provided after you register.
Breakthrough Walk for Hunger and Housing
Join Breakthrough for a one-mile walk through our beautiful Garfield Park community as we raise awareness and funds to support our vital food and housing programs.

Book Discussion: Gilead
Join us this fall as we read Marilynne Robinson’s classic novel, Gilead. Told as an aging father’s letter to his young son, Gilead has been described as a “luminous and deeply spiritual novel.”
It considers the presence of grace in ordinary moments, and invites readers to ponder God’s faithfulness and love through generations. We hope you can join us for a casual evening of reflection and discussion. Message Leigh for the address.
Work from "home" @ Grace
Grab your laptop (or a notebook, a neglected novel, colored pencils or whatever else is floating around on your to-do list) and spend the morning at Grace. It’s been really wonderful to have people around using the space together and catching up between tasks - we’re going to try and widen the circle. We’ll make a pot of coffee and you’re welcome to come and go as needed - the wi-fi is plentiful and there are plenty of open classrooms if you need privacy to take a call. No need to RSVP, just show up if you’re able. All are welcome!
Lunch with Stephanie Summers
Join us for lunch with Stephanie Summers, the Executive Director of the Center for Public Justice. She will talk about the mission of CPJ and discuss their recent work with regard to immigration policy, namely advocating for keeping families together.
PM Worship Service
We have a long-standing tradition of meeting for worship in the evening on the Sunday of the Chicago Marathon. Our weekly service will be at 5pm on Sunday evening - there will be no morning service on October 12.
Blessing of the Animals
In celebration of the Feast of St Francis, all pets (and their humans!) are invited to the church for a Blessing of the Animals. St Francis is remembered for his generosity to the poor, his willingness to minister to lepers, and for his deep love for animals and nature. We’ll give thanks for God’s love, care and concern for creation.
